Thelma Elaine Meinhardt

Elaine Hudson Meinhardt, a beloved member of her community, passed away on October 1, 2024, at the age of 77. She was born on August 30, 1947, to Lola and Hubert Hudson. Elaine's life was marked by her deep devotion to her family and unwavering commitment to her friends and community.

Elaine is survived by her loving spouse of almost 57 years, Bill Meinhardt, who resides in Chalybeate, Kentucky. She cherished her role as a mother to her children: Billy Meinhardt (Melissa) and Jenny Davis (Wes), both of Chalybeate, Kentucky. Elaine took immense pride in being a grandmother to Hilary Meinhardt, Meredith (Austin) Cody Meinhardt (Alex), and Ryann Davis, and was delighted to be a great-grandmother to Kanyon and Avery Meredith.

Elaine was also blessed with siblings who loved her dearly: Teresa Kelein (David) of Louisville, Kentucky, and Shelia Madison (David) of Sweeden, Kentucky. Her family was the heart of her life, and she nurtured and supported them with all her affection.

Elaine was preceded in death by her parents, Lola and Hubert Hudson, and her brother, Jerry Hudson. Though they are no longer with us, their spirit and memories will continue to resonate within her family.

The community is invited to pay their respects during visitation services at Chalybeate United Baptist Church, located at 658 Chalybeate School Rd, Smiths Grove, Kentucky. Visitation will be held on October 4, 2024, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, and again on October 5, 2024, from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM. Following the visitation, a funeral service will take place on October 5, 2024, at 10:00 AM, leading to a burial service that will commence at 11:00 AM at Kinser Cemetery in Smiths Grove.

Elaine Hudson Meinhardt’s warmth, kindness, and love for her family will be profoundly missed, but her legacy will forever live on in the hearts of those she touched throughout her life.
