Susan Margaret Harris, 82, of Bowling Green, KY passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 8, 2022 at Bowling Green Nursing and Rehab. She was born on Christmas Eve, December 24, 1939 in Brooklyn, New York to the late Noel and Catherine Harris. Sue retired as a school teacher in Alamogordo, New Mexico and served for many years as a missionary on the Mescalero Apache Reservation. Sue worked with Wycliff Bible Translators before going to Mexico as a missionary and then the Lord called her to New Mexico to minister to the Mescalero people whom she loved, prayed and cared for. As a single woman, Sue raised four beautiful Apache girls and her love for them and the Lord was evident in her unwavering love and support. Daughters and grandchildren: Abigail Tahnito, (Wynona Evans, Alice Tahnito, and Charlotte Magoosh); Donna Mae Lang (Dakota Lang and Juana Lang); Julia Kayitah Eichenbaum, husband Jeff (Melissa Kayitah, Jacob Eichenbaum); and Sue Massey, husband Quincy (Tyrel, Xavier and Journee Massey). Sue’s love and passion for the Word of God has made an impact in the lives of so many. Her understanding and ability to communicate the truth of God’s Word has set her apart to leave a legacy in the lives of many. Her gifts were many which included giving sacrificially to missions, going to serve on mission trips abroad and her service to the local church. She was an intercessor that sacrificed time, finances and energy into the will of God in the lives of those she loved and prayed for. Sue moved to Bowling Green, Kentucky from Alamogordo, New Mexico in 1997. Upon her arrival in Bowling Green, she immediately was involved at First Assembly of God, Hotel Inc, community outreaches and lead numerous Bible studies over the years. At the time of her passing, she was a member of Destiny Church, Bowling Green. She was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew her. Sue is survived by her brother, Noel M. “Sandy” Harris III and wife Carolyn who live in Emerald Isle, NC; her nephew Matthew Harris and wife Allison, New Orleans, LA; her niece Carrie Rigsbee and husband Brandon, Bogue, NC; and her grand nieces: Aubrey, Emily, Josie, and Lainey. The memorial and celebration of life service will be held at Cone Funeral Home in Bowling Green, KY on Saturday, November 19, 2022 at 11:00 am with a meal following with family and friends. In lieu of flowers, please consider giving an offering to "Voice of the Martyrs". Sue supported and believed in this ministry for 50+ years.
