Skiles Ewing Blewett, was born December 8, 1945 and was one of six sons and 8 daughters born to Millard Blewett Sr. and Virginia Blanche Butts-Blewett of Woodburn Kentucky. Nicknamed "Porkchop," by friend and associates who knew him and "Skillet," by his nieces and nephews, Skiles Blewett was a man who took on responsibility with no regards to his own comfort to see to other people's needs. Skiles professed his hope and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ at an early age. He was member of Woodburn First Baptist Church until he was called home to be with Jesus. Skiles departed from this life on January 20, 2021 at Vanderbilt hospital in Nashville at 5:20 pm at the age of 75 years, 1 month and 12 days. Skiles was a hard worker and devoted to his professions and any job he engaged in. To help his parents out he did odd jobs and farm work as well as going to school. As time went on, he engaged in driving trucks hauling hay for Phil Creek. From there he was employed for KY Stone, loading and hauling rocks for clients. Later he was hired at Scotty Construction/trucking for an increase in pay. He worked 17 years before going to hauling for Greg Gray trucking and Walkers trucking. He worked until his health would no longer allow him to do so and left the workforce in January 1999. Skiles is preceded in death by his parents, Millard and Blanche Blewett; 5 brothers: Charles William, James Leonard, James Carl, Millard Jr, and Mike "Pepper" Blewett; and 7 sisters: Mary Williams, Bessie Jackson, Doris Blewett, Dorothy Briggs, Bobbi Hall, Anna Simons and Patricia Potter. Skiles was married twice in this lifetime. His first wife was Mary E. (Libby) Toole. He later met and married his second wife of 32 years, Willa Lewis-Blewett. Their marital union would bring forth 3 children. Besides his wife, he leaves behind to cherish his memory a son, Patrick Skiles Blewett I; his daughters: Nakeyia LaSha' Bartholomew-Lenard (spouse, Jamia Lenard) of Bolingbrook, Illinois and a foster daughter, Tonya Rene Hill. Other survivors include 5 granddaughters: Jordyn Lenard, Imani Lenard, Jayla Lenard, Montoria Hill and Zakoria Hill; 2 grandsons: Ian Lenard and Nolan Lenard; 3 great grandchildren who were foster children as well as a sister, Glois Jean Blewett-Alexander of Sand Dusky Ohio; a brother-in-law: Jeffery Lewis of Bowling Green, a sister-in-law: Darla Lewis-Williams (spouse Ricky Williams) of Corpus Christi, TX; numerous nieces, nephews, grand and great grand nieces, great nephews, cousins and friends.
