Sheri Katherine McLaughlin Thompson - Sheri went to be with our Lord on Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at 4:27 a. m. after a hard fought battle with cancer. She was born February 18, 1971 in Salem, Ohio and was a 1989 graduate of Salem High School. She was employed by General Motors in Bowling Green, KY. She is survived by her husband, Timothy Thompson of Alvaton, KY and stepson, Travis Thompson. Parents Laura Cassidy Raynor of Stedman, NC and Richard McLaughlin of Salem, OH. Sister, Tracy (Gary) Blough of Salem, OH. Nephews, Collin Hoaglin, Andrew Blough, Daniel Blough and Kyle Blough; and nieces, Adelle Hoaglin Carter and Tanya Hoaglin Balduff. Sister-in-law, Lydia (Barry) Dunn of AL and nieces, Hannah (Eli) Perez and Rebecca Dunn; and nephews Andrew and Aaron Dunn. The Bartolotti families of OH and PA. A special thank you to Sheri's friend, Nicki Andrews; all of Sheri's Kentucky ""family""; and all who cared for her during her cancer journey. If you've been fortunate enough to have crossed paths with Sheri, you will have received the gift of her amazing smile, her contagious laugh and her calming spirit that soothes not only her friends but many animals as well. Sheri was the bright light to anyone who knew her. She was one of the most selfless people you could know. She loved animals and saved countless cats and dogs through fostering. She was an avid gardener of flowers and knew them all. She was definitely the green thumb of the family. She always loved a bargain when shopping. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 22 at 11:00 a. m. at Victory Hill Church in Scottsville, KY with Pastor Nathan Oaks officiating along with Rev. Harold Thompson. A second celebration of life will be held at a later date in her hometown in Ohio. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Humane Society in Bowling Green, KY or Angels for Animals in Canfield, OH.
