Roy Hackworth, 76 of Bowling Green, Ky died September 10, 2021, at Greenview Hospital. The Leachville, Arkansas native was the son of the late Amos Hackworth and Gracie Mae Decker Hackworth. He was a proud veteran of the United States Navy. Mr. Hackworth was married to the love of his life, Donna for 53 years. He attended Broadway Methodist Church, Greenwood Campus. After retirement from General Motors Corvette plant, he and his wife traveled the US in their RV making lots of memories and lasting friendships along the way. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters: Edna Dippel and Kathy Donohue and a brother, Floyd Hackworth. Surviving is his wife, Donna Hackworth; his children: Amy Smith (Mark) and Eddie Hackworth (Amy) and his granddaughters: Natalie and Lauren Smith and Amelia Hackworth. Other survivors include his sisters: Naomi Weaver (Tommy) and Sandra Sims (Charles) as well as several nieces and nephews. Roy was a loving husband, father, and papa. His world revolved around his granddaughters and he loved watching them participate in the sports they loved. His family was his world. Visitation for Mr. Roy Hackworth will be held on Friday, September 17, 2021, from 5 pm – 8 pm at Broadway Methodist Church, Greenwood Campus and again on Saturday, September 18, 2021, from 9 am until 11 am. Memorial services with military honors will be held at 11 am Saturday at the church. The family has entrusted Cone Funeral Home (1510 Campbell Lane) with arrangements.
