Roger Von Holten

Roger Von Holten passed from this life into the loving arms of his Savior on Friday, November 19, 2021. He was born March 6, 1944, in Harmon, IL, to John and Bernice Von Holten. Mr. Von Holten was preceded in death by his father, John Von Holten, his mother, Bernice Von Holten, his stepfather, Ray Von Holten, his brother, Arnold Von Holten, his brother-in-law, Fred Perrizo, and one unborn child. Roger is survived by his wife of 39 years, Lori Von Holten; three children, Elizabeth Von Holten of TN, Luke Von Holten (Cassie) of KY, and Anna Rossi of KY; and 7 grandchildren, Devon Von Holten, Logan Patterson, Tyson Patterson, Lana Rossi, John Thomas Rossi, Giana Von Holten, and Jackson Von Holten. He is also survived by 3 brothers, John (Chris) of AZ, Marvin (Dee) of AZ, and Dean (Trudi) of Switzerland; one sister, Joanne Perrizo of AZ; two brothers in law, Lee Moore (Sue) and Guy Moore (Sandy), as well as numerous nieces and nephews. At the age of 22 Roger was called into the Army and in March of 1967 headed to Vietnam for a one-year tour of duty. Upon his return home, Roger earned a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. On August 7, 1982, he married Lori Moore and they were blessed with two daughters and one son. His career turned to sales in the construction business which kept him busy until he retired in 2014. After retiring, Roger moved his family to KY. Roger grew up on the farm and loved farming. He also liked to golf and fish, but more importantly was an avid student of the Bible and thoroughly enjoyed attending Bible Study Fellowship. Roger was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who loved spending time with his family. He will be greatly missed by the many whose lives he touched. Roger leaves behind a wonderful legacy. The family entrusted Cone Funeral Home (1510 Campbell Ln) with arrangements and chose a private burial ceremony on November 23, 2021. On Friday, December 3, 2021, the family will host a visitation at Old Zion Methodist Church (8970 Old Bowling Green Road, Glasgow KY) from 9:30 a. m. to 11 a. m. to be followed immediately at 11 a. m. by a Memorial Service with Military Honors. The family has requested that memorial donations be made to Glasgow Christian Academy at 307 Columbia Avenue, Glasgow, Ky 42141 for scholarships for Devon, Logan and Tyson.
