Roger dedicated 37 years of his life to the General Motors Corvette Assembly Plant, where he showcased his diligent work ethic and commitment to excellence. A proud Army Veteran, Roger served valiantly in the First Cavalry Division during the Vietnam War, a testament to his bravery and service to his country. His experiences shaped him into the kind and compassionate man known by all.
He is remembered as a loving husband, father, and grandfather who always prioritized the needs of others above his own. Roger was married to Connie White Phipps in September 1970, and their union was a source of joy and strength throughout his life. Though Connie has preceded him in death, their love remains a guiding light for those he leaves behind.
Roger found immense joy in his role as a grandfather to three cherished grandchildren: Katarina Popovic, Aleks Popovic, and Emma Phipps. His time spent with them brought him great happiness, and he will be deeply missed by them. Roger’s generous spirit and patient nature served as an inspiration to his family, instilling values that will endure for generations.
He is survived by his daughter, Stephanie Phipps of Bowling Green, and his son, Brian Phipps (Laura) of Bowling Green, alongside his beloved grandchildren.
Roger was preceded in death by his father, Jesse Manuel Phipps, his mother, Velma Beers Phipps, and his beloved wife, Connie.
