Roger Dale Cooper

May 3, 1943 — April 11, 2025

Bowling Green, KY

Roger Dale Cooper, born on May 3, 1943, in Vanceburg, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on April 11, 2025, at his residence in Bowling Green, Kentucky. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories that will forever resonate with those who knew him.

He was a devoted husband to Patricia Cooper, whom he married in Nashville, Tennessee. Their partnership flourished over 40 wonderful years; she was truly the love of his life. Together, they built a family infused with joy and warmth.

Roger was proud of his two daughters, Kati (Ed) Hicks and Michelle (Jason Suddeth) Baltz, who both carry forward his spirit of kindness and tenacity. He is also survived by his son, Mickey (Brenda) Baltz, who inherits his father's love for adventure and connection. Roger's grandchildren — Brooke Hicks, Olivia Baltz, Bradley (Tatum) Hicks, and Gracie Baltz — were a source of immense pride and joy for him, and he treasured every moment spent with them.

A man of service, Roger proudly served his country in the U.S. Army, an experience that shaped his values and instilled in him a sense of duty and honor. Outside of his military service, he was an avid sports lover with a particular passion for UK Basketball. His dedication to sports was matched only by his love for the great outdoors; he found joy in fly fishing and camping, relishing the tranquility and beauty nature had to offer.

Roger is preceded in death by his parents, Wallace Cooper and Lora Christine Ash. Their legacy lives on in Roger’s character and the family he nurtured.

As we remember Roger, we celebrate a life well-lived, characterized by love, adventure, and a deep bond with family and friends. His spirit will continue to inspire those he leaves behind, and he will be profoundly missed.
