Robert Vincent Kohls, 83 of Bowling Green died June 2, 2022 in Nashville, Tn. He was born January 28, 1939, in Ottawa, OH and was the son of the late Franklin and Marie Noirot Kohls. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Sueann Kohls and his sisters: Shirley Gerding and Linda Coleson. Mr. Kohls is survived by his daughter, Keri Scott (Brian); his grandchildren: Zachary and Elisa Scott as well as several other family members. Bob had the opportunity to do many exciting and unique projects during his life. In spite of having a full scholarship to Ohio State University on a band scholarship where he would have played the trumpet, he opted to attend the University of Dayton and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in engineering. During his time at UD, he had the opportunity to work on the Mars rocket program. After graduation, he opened his own company, American Riggers. His company was responsible for the movement of all the rides from Coney Island to Kings Island including the wooden rollercoaster, The Racer. Bob got the first ride on The Racer at the new park. “Captain Bob” also engineered the move of the Corvette plant from St. Louis to Bowling Green. He was commissioned by the US Air Force to hang the first ever defected Mig in the U. S. Air Force Museum. In his leisure time, Bob enjoyed many family trips to Sarasota, FL and his family’s houseboating trips. There will be a visitation time for Mr. Robert Kohls with his family on Thursday, June 9, 2022, from 5 pm – 8 pm in the chapel of Cone Funeral Home (1510 Campbell Lane).
