Robert Goad

Mr. Robert Wade Goad, age 85 of Westmoreland, TN, passed away at his daughter’s residence on December 24, 2023, in Bowling Green, KY.

The family has entrusted Cone Funeral Home with arrangements.

Funeral services for Robert Goad are scheduled to be conducted on Thursday, December 28, 2023, at 2:00pm at Cone Funeral Home with burial to follow in Haysville Cemetery in Lafayette, TN. Visitation with the family will begin at 11:00am until time of service at 2:00pm.

Robert was born April 26, 1938, in Portland, TN, to the late Jim Goad and the late Nettie Jones Goad. He is also preceded in death by his wife, Janice Lee Green Goad, two sons, Robby Layne Goad and Bobby Wayne Goad and a great-granddaughter, Annie Hesed Goad, two sisters, Lucy Jones and Betty Law and a brother, Curt Goad.

He is survived by daughter, Benita “Nita” Goad Williams (Scottie) of Bowling Green, KY; son, Kevin Lee Goad (Tracye) of Champaign, IL; grandchildren, Stephan Douglas Goad (Austyn), Amber Nicole Wisdom (Lucas), Brandon Scott Goad (Beth), Andrew Robert Goad (Stephanie), Adriana Colette Goad, Peyton Alexander Goad (Hazel Burnett), and Bradlee Mason Goad; great-grandchildren, Lincoln Wisdom, Logan Wisdom, Maggie Goad, Bodie Goad, Izabella Goad, Lauryn Goad, Noah Goad, and Ellie Goad; daughter-in-law, Tammy Goad of Westmoreland, TN; sisters, Brenda Harris (Don) of Greenwood, IN, Jonelle Oldham (Sam) og Greenwood, IN; brothers, Dick Goad of Indianapolisn IN, and Jimmy Goad (Nancy) of Liberty, TN.

Robert was a member of Haysville Methodist Church and an ordained Methodist Minister and a U.S. Army Veteran. He was an amateur radio operator, and his call letters were K1WG. Robert enjoyed the outdoors, especially camping, boating, fishing and water skiing and racing cars. He also worked as an auto mechanic for many years. Robert was an avid Bible reader and was devoted to studying the Bible and a faithful servant to the Lord. He also loved his family dearly.
