Mr. Robert (“Bob”) Earl Campbell, age 75, of Bowling Green, KY, passed away Wednesday, April 26, 2023, at Bowling Green Nursing & Rehabilitation. Bob was born December 8, 1947, in Louisville, KY to the late Raymond Campbell and Margaret Marie Foreman Campbell. Bob was a United States Army Veteran, entrepreneur, and family man. While in the military, he trained through the Army Hercules Missile Crew and was a Skilled Sharpshooter. He earned a National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, and special achievements in analytical and intellectual abilities. Over the years, he worked for Black and Decker in Shelbyville, KY, Wolverine Metal Stamping in St. Joseph, Michigan, Gary Force Honda in Bowling Green, KY, and started several self-operated business ventures. Bob was an avid outdoorsman who caught huge fish on lake Michigan and bear hunted in the upper peninsula. His hilarious story of shooting “Ortis” the turkey was published in a national hunting magazine. Bob loved to cook and was a premier amateur chef. When he wasn’t in the woods or on the water, you could find him cooking up a storm in the kitchen or on his patio cranking up the grill or smoker. Bob was a big cut-up and loved to laugh and make others laugh. He also enjoyed reading, especially anything about history. His many other talents also include being a master level carpenter and furniture remodeler. Bob loved his family and friends who would do anything for him. He is survived by his three children, Gwen Campbell of Bowling Green, KY, Alex Campbell of Portland, TX, Erin Tucker (JJ) of Lascassas, TN; two grandchildren, Lillian Tucker, Jack Campbell; one brother, James Campbell (Alberta) of Bloomfield, KY, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Raymond Campbell, Jr. , Kenneth Campbell, and sisters, Doris Fischer Payne and Marilyn Weber. The family would like to especially thank Hospice of Southern Kentucky and the staff at Bowling Green Nursing & Rehabilitation for their wonderful care and treatment. Funeral services for Mr. Campbell are scheduled to be conducted on Monday, May 1, 2023, at 12:00 Noon with military honors. Visitation with the family will begin on Sunday, April 30, 2023, from 1:00 PM until 5:00 PM and again on Monday from 10:00 AM until time of service at Noon.
