Richard Hanna

Richard Davis Hanna entered life on July 2, 1962. He was born to Eugene and Hazel Hanna in Bowling Green, KY. At the age of 10, on December 21, 1972, Rick was impacted by the death of his father, Eugene. His mother, Hazel preceded Rick in death on February 13, 2005. On October 13, 1993 Robert Eugene Davis Hanna was born, giving his parents, Rick and Kay, a heart full of joy and love. On August 8, 2016 Riley Elizabeth Hanna, beloved and cherished granddaughter of Rick, was born to Davis and Alycia in Omaha, Nebraska. Rick graduated from Bowling Green High in 1980 and served his country briefly in the US Army, leaving service on a medical discharge. During his younger years he attended WKU and the University of Kentucky and was an avid & devoted Big Blue fan. Rick had several careers throughout his life. He worked in several factories and restaurants for a number of years. He was employed by Stewart Richey for several years, managing service on heavy equipment. He found his calling as an addiction specialist and substance abuse counselor. He carried the message of Recovery and remained close with many, who mourn his passing. Richard grew up loving music and was passionate & intimately engaged with many facets of music throughout his life. He was a talented musician, playing guitar and bass. He played locally for a lot of years and remained connected to a multitude of friends and loyal fans until his death. Rick departed this life on Monday April 30, 2018 after a lengthy illness and battle with lung disease. Visitation and Celebration of Life will begin at 11 am Saturday, May 5, 2018 at Cone Funeral Home on Campbell Lane in Bowling Green.
