Paul Jahn

February 22, 1935 — February 11, 2023

Paul Albert Rudolph Jahn passed away on February 11, 2023, after a short illness. Born in Bad Frankenhausen, Thuringia, Germany on February 22, 1935, to Marthe Hirscher Jahn and Rudolph Jahn. He was orphaned by nine and was raised by his beloved grandparents. After surviving hardship in World War II, he made a risky trip to West Berlin in 1953, where he lived in a DP (displaced persons) camp for a year to await sponsorship from his aunt in America. As a trained mechanic, he learned English while repairing trucks for the British soldiers. He married Anne-Grete Flor in 1956 and eventually had three children. He and his wife owned and operated Jahn's Delicatessen and Liquors in Wood-Ridge, NJ for thirty years. He retired to Arizona to pursue his passion for golf. Paul and his second, wife, Terri, moved to Kentucky eight years ago to be closer to her brother in Bowling Green. They lived there with the assistance of Terri's daughter, Diane McKee, as aging made life increasingly difficult. Paul is survived by his wife, Terri, children, Ingrid Jahn, Eric Jahn (Carol), and Christine Jahn Roche; Diane and Al McKee; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren, and family in Germany. Cremation has occurred. We would like everyone to remember Paul as a man who followed his dreams and who lived a fulfilling life. He loved this country, especially the times he spent in Wyoming. He had the spirit of an adventurer. Please note the memorial tree links do not connect to a local arborist in Bowling Green, KY. If you wish to plant a memorial tree locally you may contact the City of Bowling Green Parks and Recreation department at www. bgky. org/bgpr/cemeteries/memorial-tree or the Warren County Parks and Recreation department.
