Oscar Davis, 83 of Bowling Green, KY was granted his wings on November 9, 2022. Graveside services with military honors will be held on Friday, November 18, 2022 at 1 pm at Fairview Cemetery. Mr. Davis was born in Baltimore, MD the youngest son of the late Edward Davis and Hattie Mae Davis on September 27, 1938. Oscar was preceded in death by wife of 27 years, Janice Davis of Bowling Green as well as 5 brothers and 2 sisters and a nephew. He received his education in the Baltimore City Public School system in Baltimore, MD. Oscar loved the Lord and he soon gave his life to Christ at an early age the family church, Eastern United Methodist Church in Baltimore, MD. He later went into the Armed Services, Army Branch 101st Airborne at 17 years old in Fort Campbell, Ky. He served in the Vietnam War and was transferred to Mannheim, Germany where he was stationed for several years. While in the Army, he developed a love for the sport of boxing. After many years of training, he became a professional boxer in his own right. He continued his Army career for 20 years and retired on October 31, 1975. Oscar was a member of the Masonic Fraternal Organization. After the service, he became a veteran worker in Food Services at Western Kentucky University and retired after many years there. He was reborn again in the later years into the Church of Christ in Bowling Green, Ky. Oscar leaves to cherish his memory: his wife, Anne Davis and his sons: Tyrone Davis and Oscar Davis and his daughter, both of Baltimore, MD as well as several nieces and nephews of Baltimore, MD. He is also survived by his daughter, Joy Vannoy and her son, Brandon Godbolt of Bowling Green, KY and his daughter, Victoria Vashon (Kevin) of IN along with her 3 children: Korben, Kaleb and Kaedence; as well as a host of other family and friends.
