Margaret Southworth, age 81 of Edmonton, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, March 23rd, 2023, at her home. Margaret was born in Wichita Kansas and moved to California at a young age. In 2004 she moved to Edmonton, Kentucky, with her son and his family. Margaret worked as an educator, she was a physical education teacher, band director and high school counselor. Her career allowed her to have a life-changing impact on countless numbers of students. Margaret was an avid musician, her main instrument was trombone and over the years she played in many bands, symphonies, and church groups. At one time she toured Europe, playing her trombone. Margaret also enjoyed sewing, fishing, animals, and spending time with her grand children. Margaret is survived by her son, John Southworth and his spouse Shelly, of Edmonton Ky; niece, Lorene Leaver, of Hendersonville, NC; three grandchildren, Daniel, Matthew and Allison Southworth, all of Edmonton. She was proceeded in death by her father, Clinton Hetrick; mother, Darlene Hetrick; twin sister Marlene Leaver. A graveside service will be held at a later date.
