Mamie Lowery

Mamie M. Lowery, Age 98, Bowling Green, Kentucky died Wednesday November 1, 2017 at the Auburn Health Care Center in Auburn, Kentucky. Mamie was born November 26, 1918 in Buffalo Valley, Tennessee, a daughter of Barry Thompson and Martha Elizabeth Evans. On November 5, 1941 she married Howard Glenn Bennett in Cooksville, Tennessee. He preceded her in death on December 7, 1955. She then married Thomas T. Lowrey on May 29, 1964 in Peoria, Illinois. He preceded her in death on September 11, 1987. Mamie was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers and sisters: Collie Thompson, Carmen Thompson, Vernie Mae Brown, Maynelle Morris, Minnie Bilyeu, Kathleen Gillispie, Jessie Barnes Smith, Avanna Fields and Floy Daniels. Mamie is survived by her daughter: Hazel (Joseph G. ""George"") Hicks of Woodburn, Kentucky, and her son Howard Gill Bennett of East Peoria, Illinois. She is also survived by her six grandchildren: Terri (Chris) Dillard of Woodburn, Kentucky, Mark Hicks of Gallatin, Tennessee, Tracie (Tony) Kennedy of Gallatin, Tennessee, Hazel Maddox of East Peoria, Illinois, and Marna (Aaron) Vanorder of East Peoria, Illinois and Howard Glenn Bennet of East Peoria, Illinois. Mamie also is survived by her great grandchildren: Brandon Dillard, Madison Dillard, Austin Kennedy, Gage Vanorder, Cody Maddox, and Taylor Maddox, and two great great grandchildren: Paisley and Shailey Maddox along with other relatives and friends. Mamie really enjoyed her Bingo games and she loved her family. Mamie's family would like to thank the staff at Auburn Health Care Center for the compassionate care. The visitation for Mamie will be held Sunday November 5, 2017 from 5:00 PM until 6:30 PM at the Cone Funeral Home (1510 Campbell Lane). Graveside services will be held on Monday November 6, 2017 at 2:00 P. M. at the Ridgewood Cemetery in Carthage, Tennessee.
