Mae Vonna Vance, 95, of Bowling Green, KY, passed away December 20, 2020 at Hospice of Southern Kentucky from complications due to COVID-19. She was born to Lucy M. Logsdon and Sanford B. Butler on December 4, 1925 in Hart County, KY. Mae married Collins T. Vance on January 12, 1944 in Boston, MA. She had an over 30-year career at National Bank of Detroit. Mae was also a member of Barren River Baptist Church, Warren County Homemakers, AARP, and the Ladies Auxiliaries of the American Legion and VFW. She was preceded in death by her husband Collins; a son Carl and siblings, John, Hubert, and Stanley. She is survived by a son, Melvin Vance and a daughter, Virginia Nichols (Dan); grandchildren: Amy Amore, Crystal Meakings, Jeremiah Nichols and Michael Nichols; great-grandchildren Jacob Amore, Madison Amore, Cameron Meakings and Maverick Nichols as well as sisters Edwina Cook, Wanda Rice, and Shelia Allen. Funeral services for Mrs. Mae Vance will be held on Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at 2:00 pm at Barren River Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held on Wednesday from 11:00 am until time of service. The family has entrusted Cone Funeral Home (1510 Campbell Lane) with arrangements.
