Larry Whitman

Larry Dale Whitman, age 78, of Bowling Green, KY, passed away Friday, September 22, 2023, at his home surrounded by family and friends who loved him dearly. He was born March 3, 1945, in Henderson, Kentucky to his late parents John Edward Whitman and Thelma Louise (Bird) Whitman. He was also preceded in his death by his brother Allen Whitman. Larry is survived by his wife Betty Whitman; daughter Lisa Abell (Mike), his grandchildren Sara Keith (Jacob), Nathaniel Abell and Heather Abell; his great grand kids Emily and Penelope Keith; sisters Saundra Kube (Kerry), Pam Eldridge (David), and Kathy Bayles (Gary); sister-n-law Sandra Whitman from Bartlett, TN; along with several nieces, and nephews. Over the course of his life he was involved in many clubs such as: American Legion, VA Veterans, Ham Radio Club, and was also a member of the Church of God of Prophecy in Auburn, KY. Larry proudly served our country in the US Army as a Paratrooper from November 1965 ~ November 1967 and was honored with the Purple Heart. The family has entrusted Cone Funeral Home to serve the family with all arrangements. The visitation will be at Cone Funeral Home Wednesday, September 27, 2023 from 10am ~ 1pm; service will start at 1:00pm. Burial will be held at Fairview Cemetery after.
