She graduated from Slate Ridge High School in 1942. Throughout the balance of WWII, she was employed building aircraft at Glenn L. Martin Company in Middle River. In early 1947 she completed the Baltimore Business College Senior Secretarial Course. Shortly thereafter she became a civilian employee of the U. S. Army at Aberdeen Proving Grounds. She worked there for 35 years, retiring in 1982 from the Property Accounting Branch, with numerous awards and commendations. Throughout her life June was extremely active. She loved skiing, traveling across the country and several times to Europe to enjoy the sport, even into her early seventies. Swimming, walking and structured exercise were a part of her daily routine until her final illness. She was a dedicated member of the Bel Air Volunteer Fire Dept. Ladies Auxiliary for nearly three decades. In retirement she worked part-time at the Harford County Public Library, where she also volunteered her time working with autistic children. She always had time to help others, whether in the community, her family or among her many personal friends. Her quick smile and infectious laugh will be missed by all whose lives she touched. Interment will be private. A celebration of life gathering is planned for a yet unconfirmed future date.
