Joyce Lavergne Carpenter, born on October 27, 1935, in Cloverport, Kentucky, passed away on February 2, 2025, in Bowling Green, Kentucky. A remarkable woman, Joyce was known for her vibrant spirit, love for fashion, and cherished moments spent with her grandchildren. She embraced life with an infectious joy, reveling in the simple pleasures that brought her happiness.
As a beloved member of her family, Joyce leaves behind her loving brother, Charles Limer of Cloverport, Kentucky, and her devoted sister, Sharon Shellman of Alabama. She is survived by her children: Ron Carpenter, Richard Carpenter Jr., Cheryl McComas, Shelia Waller, and Teresa Hogan, all residing in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Joyce was the proud grandmother to ten grandchildren and a cherished great-grandmother to thirteen great-grandkids, each of whom held a special place in her heart.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, Coleman and Ethel Limer, and her husband, Richard B. Carpenter.
Her legacy of warmth, laughter, and love will live on in the hearts of those who knew her. She will be remembered not only for her impeccable sense of style and love for fun but also for the joy she brought to her family. While her presence will be deeply missed, her spirit will remain a guiding light in the lives of her loved ones.
