Johnson Lewis, Jr

Mr. Johnson Lewis, Jr, 71 of Bowling Green died January 12, 2023, at his residence. The Wetumpka, AL native was the son of the late Johnson Lewis, Sr and Ruby Nell Lewis. Funeral services for Mr. Lewis will be held on Wednesday, January 18, 2023, at 12:30 pm at Oakland Mt. Zion Baptist Church with burial to follow in Oakland Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Wednesday from 10 am to 12 pm at the church. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters: Dorothy Lewis and Emma Lewis as well as his brothers, Alvin Lewis and Billy Lewis and a special aunt, Carrie Woolfork. Mr. Lewis is survived by his wife, Kathy Lewis; his children, Deja Whitney, Jonathan Lewis, and stepson Dewan Whitney; his grandson, Braylon Whitney and his sister, Olivia (Marty) Ferrell. Other survivors include his special nieces and nephew: Ashlee Northington, Lorenzo Northington and Laci Northington; his great niece, Amiyah Northington as well as a host of nieces and nephews. Mr. Johnson was a strong man with a beautiful soul and a hard worker who loved the Lord. His greatest blessings were his wife and children, and he dearly loved them. He was a member of Mt Zion Baptist Church. He retired from General Motors after 30 years. Mr. Johnson was very active in the AA and NA community. He had the desire to help others find peace in recovery. The family has entrusted Cone Funeral Home (1510 Campbell Lane) with arrangements.
