James "Bootlegger" Devlin, Sr. , 68, of Covington, passed away on Monday, June 28 at Methodist Hospital North in Memphis after a brief illness. Mr. Devlin was a truck driver with Old Dominion Trucking Company for 29 years, approaching 4 million safe miles, was a member of the Rosemark Church of Christ, a member of the Southern Cruisers Riding Club, Chapter 183 and a supporter of the Ronald McDonald House and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. He is survived by his wife, Zanea Devlin; two sons, James Calvin (Michelle) Devlin, Jr. and Johnny Claypool, both of Kentucky; one sister, Georgia (Danny) Sisco of Bartlett; eight grandchildren and one great grandchild. Local funeral services will be held at 6 p. m. on Thursday, July 1 at the Covington Funeral Home. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service at the funeral home. Additional funeral services will be held at 2 p. m. on Friday, July 2 at the Cone Funeral Home, 1510 Campbell Lane, Bowling Green, KY with interment to follow in Dit Vincent Cemetery in Brownsville, KY. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
