Gloria Jean Poindexter was born in St. Louis, Missouri on December 14, 1946 to the late Johnny Hardy and Rose Bradley. Her grandparents were the late Frank Bradley and Mary Alice Palm. Gloria met the late Robert Poindexter in St. Louis, Missouri. The two were married in Bowling Green, KY on January 28, 1984. They have seven children. In the early 80's Gloria repented of her sins and was baptized in the name of Jesus Christ and received the gift of the Holy Ghost at Our Lord's Temple Church. Known as Sister Gloria to many, she was also the ""Big Momma"" figure of a large family which included 12 siblings. Sister Gloria spent many years as a Sunday School teacher. She was a member of Lively Stone Church under Pastor Yvonne Bell, and a previous member at Our Lord's Temple Church under Pastor Preston Satterfield and District Elder Johnnie Blissett II. She was preceded in death by one son Tyrone Smith, two sisters Rita and Shirley and two brothers Sam and Leon. Sister Gloria's memories will forever be cherished by her children: Tammy Jones, Tyrone (Karen) Wingo, Pamela Sears, Jesse (LaKresia) Wingo, Evangeline Poindexter, Dion(Myra) Wingo and Daryl (Shelta) Wingo. Siblings: Norma Jean, Denise, Rose, David, Lester, Gregory, George Jr. and Allison. Several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a host of other family and friends.
