Garrett Owen Cramer passed away peacefully in his home on November 13, 2020, after a long battle with multiple myeloma and rejection of his transplanted heart. A native of Oklahoma, Garrett was born January 3, 1976. He also spent much of his childhood and adult life in Texas. He moved with his family to Bowling Green, Kentucky in 2018, when he received his heart transplant at Vanderbilt University Hospital in Nashville, TN. Garrett was a United States Navy veteran, having served aboard the USS Groton (SSN-694) and the USS Dallas (SSN-700) as Quartermaster of the Watch. He was heavily involved in Scouting, volunteering his time as a leader and Cub Master. Garrett drove an eighteen wheeler for Grocery Supply Company of Sulphur Springs, Texas, for eight years before he became disabled due to illness. A family man, Garrett loved being a father and enjoyed scouting, camping and traveling with his children. Garrett is preceded in death by his grandparents, Fred Cramer, Anna May Cramer, Ralph Landers, Minnie Landers Nicolet; uncle, Donnie Landers; sister, Pamela Cramer McDaniel and three nephews. He is survived by his wife, Rachel Cramer; children, Noah Cramer, Romy Cramer, Jack Cramer; parents, Fred Cramer, Linda Rowan; step-parents, Dennis Rowan, Rojeana Cramer; sister, Freda Johnson; step-brothers, Rodney Rowan, Dwayne Rowan; five nephews and nieces; two great nephews. Memorial services for Garrett Cramer will be held on Saturday, November 21, 2020 at 10 am. Located at First United Methodist Church of Commerce , 1709 State Hwy 50, Commerce, Texas 75428. Officiated by Pastor Sam Caldwell. Cone Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.
