Eugene Wilson

Eugene R. ""Gene"" Wilson age 83 of Bowling Green, Kentucky was born in Madisonville, KY on December 15, 1934. He entered Heaven's Gates on December 28, 2017 passing away peacefully at his home with his family at his side. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 40 years: Vera Wilson to forever cherish his memory. He also leaves behind two daughters: Kelly (Robert) Reece of Bowling Green, KY and Leslie (Bruce) Horne of Whitehouse, TN. , three granddaughters: Ciara (Seth) Traughber of Clarksville, TN. , Cassie Reece and Eric Lamastus of Auburn, KY, and Jesslyn Horne of Whitehouse, TN, Eugene also has three stepsons: Terry (Peggy) Caudill, Robert Caudill, and Curtis Caudill all of Bowling Green, KY, several step grandchildren, two sisters-in-law: Liz Wilson of Louisville, KY and Grace Eakles , of LaFayette, TN. along with other relatives and friends. Gene was preceded in death by his parents: Dorsey and Ruth Ann Sanford Wilson, a brother: Joseph ""Joe"" Wilson of Louisville, KY, two sisters: Joyce (James) Prow, and Mary Lou Purnell, and a step-son: Mike Caudill of Bowling Green, KY. Gene was an avid Cubs baseball fan. He enjoyed going to Native American Pow Wows and studied the Native American Culture. He spoke French and Cherokee. He was an artist and an amateur photographer. He had had a great sense of humor and loved his family dearly. Eugene graduated from BGHS in 1953 also attended BG Business College. Eugene was a veteran of the United States Army and retired from Eaton Corporation after 34 years of service. Gene was loved by everyone who knew him and will be missed by all his friends and family dearly. The visitation for Eugene will be held Wednesday January 3, 2018 from 1:00 PM until 3:30 PM at the Cone Funeral Home (1510 Campbell Lane). The service that will celebrate Eugene's life will be held Wednesday January 3, 2018 at 3:30 PM at the Cone Funeral Home Chapel. Respecting his wishes, cremation will follow his celebration of life.
