Estil Lee Hopper, age 89, passed away February 12, 2020 surrounded by his family. He will be remembered as a helpful neighbor, supportive father and a fun-loving grandpa. Estil loved being outdoors, raising cattle and piddling in the creek that ran through his farm. He enjoyed entertaining his friends and family with funny jokes, songs and outrageous stories from his past. Estil was born March 28, 1930 in Bowling Green, Kentucky to Dakota (House) and Clarence Hopper. He was the third of ten children and grew up in the Beech Bend area of Warren County. On January 23rd 1950, he wed Edna Lucille Bratcher in Simpson County, Kentucky. The couple then moved to Louisville where Estil worked at Aubrey Feed Mills of Indiana. After 2 years in Louisville, the couple returned to Warren County and settled in the Anna Community. Estil worked as a skilled tradesman in construction, an operator of heavy equipment and a farmer. He was a member of Mt. Pleasant Church of Christ. Estil is survived by his children, Carolyn White (Dickie), Carlos Hopper (Lecia), Dale Hopper (Cindy) and Lisa Hall (Jim), all of Bowling Green; his brothers, Joe Wayne and Robert of Indiana; grandchildren, Dickie White II, Carlos Roy Hopper, Courtney Hall, all of Bowling Green, and Amanda Hopper of Warren Co, Ky; great-grandchildren, Morgan and Grant White of Bowling Green, Landon Hopper of Chattanooga, Tn. , and Anna Hopper of Warren County, Ky. Estil was preceded in death by his loving wife of 63 years, Lucille, his parents and siblings; Raymond, Hazel Mathews, Christine Southward, L. C. , Annie Hill, Jerry and Betty Hopper. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, March 7th from 2-5 pm at Anna Community Center, 4275 Anna Sandhill Rd. , Bowling Green, Ky. All who knew Estil are invited to share stories, memories and laughter as he wished that we would remember him.
