Clyde Raymond Whitledge III, age 43, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, June 20th, 2024, at the Medical Center of Bowling Green, KY. He was the cherished son of Clyde Raymond Whitledge II and Rebecca Pitts. Clyde was preceded in death by his loving wife, Jessica Link. After marrying Jess, Ray embraced and adopted Devon Link as his son, and in 2014, they welcomed their second son, Ronin Whitledge.

He is survived by his partner of five years, Jessica Wilhelm, two beloved sons, Devon Link (18) and Ronin (9) Whitledge, his siblings Macfarland (Sara) Whitledge, Teresa (Patrick) Flanigan, Kelly Kitchens, and Zachary (Shakela) Whitledge, and his devoted parents, Clyde Raymond Whitledge II and Rebecca Pitts. Ray also leaves behind 13 nieces and nephews, as well as countless cherished family members and friends who will dearly miss him.

Ray served his country with honor as a tank commander and staff sergeant in the U.S. Army and completed two tours of duty during Operation Iraqi Freedom.

A skilled carpenter and craftsman, Ray was co-owner and founder of Ray's Construction and Rehab, a business he established with the long-term goal of forming a non-profit to serve the community by rehabilitating homes and people. His commitment to improving both homes and the people who lived in them exemplified his generous spirit and deep-rooted principles.

Ray was principled, opinionated, intelligent, devoted, and above all, kind. Ray believed passionately in second chances and never ceased in his goal to become a better man.

A memorial service to celebrate Clyde Raymond Whitledge III's life will be held at Cone Funeral Home in Bowling Green, KY on Tuesday June 25th. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to a fund being established to provide for his sons. Donations can be made through the funeral home.

Clyde Raymond Whitledge III will be remembered for his unwavering principles, his love for his family, and his profound impact on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy of kindness, integrity, and service will continue to inspire and resonate within the hearts of those whose lives he touched.
