Charles Robinson

ROBINSON, Charles John, 72 of Franklin, KY passed away November 7, 2014. A celebration of his life will be held November 22, 2014 at 2 pm at Cone Funeral Home, 1510 Scottsville Rd. , Bowling Green, KY 42104-2436. Commander Robinson had a celebrated 24 year career in the U. S. Coast Guard where he was an expert marksman and retired a full commander. After retiring from the Coast Guard, Cmdr. Robinson went on to earn a Masters degree in Horticulture from Western Kentucky University. He then started a second career as owner of The Robins Nest, a peach and apple orchard in Cross Plains, TN. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Margie Ann Robinson, his daughter Kimberly Robinson of Bowling Green, KY, his son Kurtis Robinson of Atlanta, GA, and his grandson Morgan Pierson of Bowling Green, KY. He is also survived by his mother, Eleanor Robinson, his brother and sister-in-law Dean and Karen Robinson, and his Aunt Lois Salyards, all of Bolivar, PA. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Wounded Warrior Project.
