Carole Cash Embry Carole Cash Embry, 74, loving wife of Rod Embry (48+ yrs. ) and mother of Jennifer Irwin (Kevin) and Alex, died June 22, 2017, from Pulmonary Fibrosis. Carole was born Patricia Carole Cash on October 15, 1942 in Mayfield, KY, to Robert Edwin (Ed) Cash (d) and Pauline Cash (d). She grew up in Fancy Farm, KY, with her brothers Donald, John (d. ), David, Fred (d. ), Terry and her sisters Janet and Annette. She graduated from St. Jerome High School in Fancy Farm in 1960, and attended Nazareth College from 1960 to 1962. Carole moved to Louisville in 1962 where she taught at Holy Family School. Carole and Rod met in Louisville in early 1967 and married in Dec. , 1968, in Shively, KY. Carole and her husband were foster parents in Kentucky and Ontario, Canada, to 37 infants and young children for over 20 yrs. Living in Bowling Green, KY, since 2002, Carole was involved with Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Bowling Green Community Greeters, Down Syndrome of South Central Kentucky (DSSKY) and Bowling Green Special Olympics. The family would like to express gratitude to caregiver Hattie Whitney, Hospice of Southern Kentucky, DSSKY, Bowling Green Special Olympics, MC Pulmonary Rehab, Dr. Sarah Mayfield, Dr. David G Smith, Dr. Lancaster of the Vanderbilt Clinic and the many friends and relatives who supported us through Carole's illness. Visitation & Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Bowling Green, KY, on Saturday, July 8, 2017. Visitation starts at 9 AM, with Mass at noon. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your favorite charity. Ours are Down Syndrome of South Central KY (DSSKY. org) and Bowling Green Special Olympics (c/o Bowling Green Parks and Recreation).
