Loving Memory of Billy Bob McClure, Jr

Bill McClure, who passed away on December 8, 2024, at the age of 66, will forever be remembered for his kindness, generosity, and unwavering friendship. He is survived by his wife, Jane B. McClure, of Rogersville, AL; his stepdaughter, Dana Blair Hutton, and son-in-law Dillon Hutton of Tupelo, MS, his brother, Brad McClure and sister-in-law Jill McClure, nephew Mathew McClure, and niece Molly Reuter of Norman, OK.

Bill grew up in Shawnee, Oklahoma. In high school, he was very involved in sports, including pole vaulting for the track team and running cross country. He later went on to attend the University of Oklahoma. In his earlier years, he worked alongside his father, owning and operating a grocery store while also catering to the oil rigs. Later, he ran Subway franchises in Georgia and Alabama before transitioning to a highly successful career as an auditor and financial manager for online car auctions.

Throughout his life, Bill lived in several states, including California, Georgia, and Tennessee, before retiring to a peaceful life by the lake in Alabama. Bill had a deep love for boating, Oklahoma Sooner football, scuba diving, and 3-D printing. He was also dedicated to his work family, many of whom he had known for over 20 years. In his spare time, Bill was passionate about his garage tools and was often found creating projects for his wife’s special needs students. He also volunteered at Brentwood Baptist Church for over five years, teaching fourth and fifth-grade Sunday School. A true beacon of friendship and kindness, Bill made a lasting impact on everyone fortunate enough to know him.

We invite all who cherished Bill to join us for a celebration of his life at Graystone Chapel, 4520 Graystone Quarry Lane, Franklin, TN 37064, on January 19 at 2:30 PM. Together, we will share stories, laughter, and tears—just as Bill would have wanted.

For those wishing to honor Bill's legacy, donations can be made to the Special Education Sunday School Program at Brentwood Baptist Church, 7777 Concord Road, Brentwood, TN 37027, Attn: Special Needs Director. These contributions will support the church and continue Bill’s commitment to the special needs children of our community.
