Betty Strode

Betty Faye Strode, 90, of Bowling Green Kentucky, passed away on June 22, 2023. Betty was born on November 2, 1932 to Walter & Luella Jones in McCreay County Kentucky. She went on to marry William Strode. When Betty was an active member of Greenwood Baptist church, she enjoyed volunteering her time in many church activities. Until her passing, she was a member of First Baptist Church in Bowling Green. In her free time, she enjoyed cooking, gardening & had an avid love for animals. Betty was preceded in death by her husband William C. Strode; daughter Stephaine Lynn Taylor; brothers George, Barkley & Calvin Jones. She is survived by her daughter, Beverly Ann Plunkett; sisters Geraldine Stephens & Walena Hinkle; brothers John Jones, Jack Jones; grandchildren Tyra Harp (Chris), Justin Plunkett (Heather) & Jeremy Plunkett (Tiffany); great grandchildren Hunter & Taylor Plunkett, Brandon & Jaden Harp & great-great grandchildren Brooklynn & Cole Plunkett. The viewing will be held at Cone Funeral home in Bowling Green Kentucky on Thursday June 29, between 10:00-12:00pm & the funeral service will follow graveside at Glasgow Municipal Cemetery at 2:00pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Bowling Green-Warren County Humane Society, an organization Betty felt strongly about.
