Bette Ann Cook Hoback, aged 72, passed away peacefully on January 22 2025, in her beloved hometown of Bowling Green, Kentucky, where she was born on August 10, 1952. Bette was a cherished member of her community and a loving figure to all who knew her.
Bette's life was marked by creativity and compassion. She found joy in watercolor painting, expressing her artistic spirit through the delicate strokes of her brush. Her love for animals was profound, especially for her fur babies, Sparky Michael and Meeah Lynn, along with her nephew fur baby, Cooper Joe. These companions brought her immense joy and warmth, reflecting her nurturing nature.
Family was at the heart of Bette's life. She is survived by her sister, Doris Jean Shaffer (Carl Steven Shaffer) of Louisville, KY, and her three devoted children: Dana York (Josh, companion), Kim Deering, and Bill Evans. Bette's legacy continues through her grandchildren, Kody, Kaleb, Kory, Breana, Zachery, Kimbra, Jackson, Hunter, and Logan, as well as her eight great-grandchildren, who will carry forward the love and values she instilled in them.
Bette was predeceased by her beloved husband, John Hoback, who resided in Florida, and her parents, Marvin (Sock) Cook and Imogene Cook. She also mourned the loss of her grandparents, Coleman Cook and Nellie Cook, and Ted and Annie Mae Toms, who all played significant roles in her life.
Among her friends, Bette held a special bond with her best friend, Phyllis Woodcock Miller, who shared many cherished moments with her throughout the years. Bette Ann Cook Hoback will be remembered as a compassionate soul, an artist, and a devoted family member and friend. Her spirit will forever live in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
