Betsy Watson

July 29, 1932 — November 10, 2020

Betsy Ann Watson of Woodburn, Ky. passed away November 10, 2020 at the age of 88. Betsy was born in Pender County, North Carolina on July 29th 1932. She was preceded in death by her mother Eunice Padgett and one sister, Penny Brinson. Betsy was an avid flower gardener and nature lover in general. She spent many 10 hour days planting, weeding and rearranging flowers. She had even been known on occasion to dig up a tree or two and move it to a new location because it fit better with the scenery. Because of her dedication to nature, the family spent many afternoons on the back porch talking, laughing and reminiscing, all the while sitting in the midst of the beauty she had created. At Christmas time her house was fully decorated with Christmas trees, Santas and figurines while Christmas music filled the air. It was always very welcoming and felt like home the moment you stepped through the door. She attended Faith United Methodist church, when her health allowed. She will be sorely missed by her husband of 62 years Richard Watson, her children: Brenda Braddock and Jack (Cindy). She is also survived by two sisters, Pernell Pate and Cora Mae Foy; two brothers: Thomas and Gregory McNeil; several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She requested that the services be limited to immediate family members. To honor her, we simply ask that you go out into your yard and plant something beautiful. The family has entrusted Cone Funeral Home (1510 Campbell Lane) with arrangements. You may view the obituary online and offer your condolences at www. conefuneralhome. com
