Ms. Amy Lee Lassiter, age 47, of Russellville, KY, passed away peacefully early Wednesday morning September 8, 2021, at The Hospice House of Southern KY in Bowling Green. Amy was born May 7, 1974, to Tommy Lassiter who survives and resides in Sharon Grove, KY, and her late mother Jo Ellen Lassiter. She is also preceded in death by a son, Jevon Lassiter and a sister, Sly Bryant. Amy is survived by her children, AJ Gaines (Michelle), Fierce Lassiter, Glennis Ligon (Nathanshia), Sajuan Watkins, Da’vonte Bryant, Dequan Johnson, Terry Bryant, Jamarius Duncan, and Davonya Bryant, all of Russellville, KY; grandchildren, Loyalty and Legend Gaines; 3 sisters, Amber Hurt of Elkton, KY, April Wisby of Clarksville, TN, and Ebony Gilbert of Russellville, KY. Amy was a faithful Christian and loved going to church anywhere. She was an amazing basketball player and played four years at Todd County and two years at Murray State University. Amy loved to read, especially The Dark Tower series by Stephen King. She enjoyed cooking, needlepoint, all kinds of music and writing and even dreamed of one day becoming a writer. Amy had such a positive attitude and was a great person all around. She was smart, open minded, fun, so happy and selfless. She had a heart that most people longed to have. She loved her children and grandchildren dearly. She was a sweet loving mom, and not only to her own, but a sweet mom to so many. Amy always wanted to be there for others and she never turned anyone away. Faith and love kept her spirit free and optimistic even through her illness. Amy will forever be missed dearly from all who knew and loved her. The family has entrusted Cone Funeral Home (1510 Campbell Lane) with arrangements. Cremation was chosen and there will be no public services at this time.
