Alma Appleby

Alma Louise Appleby, 92, of Bowling Green, Ky, who was born on October 23, 1928 in Warren County, Ky, passed from this life on November 26, 2020 at The Medical Center at Bowling Green. She was preceded in death by her parents: Ellis Ray and Ida Mae Joiner; her husband, Clois D. Appleby; two children: Jerald Appleby and Vickie Darlene Payne; one grandson: Frankie Appleby; one sister, JoNell Lindsey, and three brothers, Jewell Joiner, Murray (Butch) Joiner, and Sony Joiner. Mrs. Appleby is survived by three children: Patricia Glass, Dale Appleby, and Teresa Diane Payne (Phillip), along with Jerald’s widow Shirley and Vickie’s widower Dale. She is also survived by seven brothers: Rex Joiner, Marin Joiner, Jack Joiner, Ted Joiner, Richard Joiner, Lawrence Joiner, and Bill Joiner; twelve grandchildren: Tina Pedigo (Brian), Dana Walker, Jessica Appleby, Jason Appleby, Justin Appleby, Penny Payne, Melissa Payne, Scotty Payne, Kim Hester, Cristy Grimes, Michael Dale Appleby, Teresa Grace; twenty seven great grandchildren; seven great-great grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Appleby was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Bowling Green. She had many loves in her life: spending time with her grandchildren, cooking (if you came to visit you had to eat) and working outside with her flowers. She was a beloved sister, mother, and grandmother. Due to COVID-19 restrictions a private visitation and funeral service for Mrs. Appleby will be held on Wednesday, December 2, 2020, in the chapel of Cone Funeral Home (1510 Campbell Lane) with burial at Fairview Cemetery to follow.
