Mr. Alan Stone, age 73, of Bowling Green, KY, passed away Saturday, December 18, 2021 at Tristar Greenview Medical Center in Bowling Green, KY. Alan was born March 3, 1948 in Louisville, KY to the late Herbert and Francis Stone. He is also preceded in death by 2 brothers, Wayne, and Glenn Stone. He is survived by his wife of 17 years, Paula Weaver; 4 sons, Michael (Jolie) Stone of Leavenworth, KS, Tim (Kelly) Stone of St. Joseph, MO, Jonathan (Jamie) Stone of Louisville, KY, Jeremy (Jennifer) Stone of Louisville, KY; grandchildren, Caden, Chesney, Gabriel, and Michaela Stone; several nieces and nephews. Alan was in the 11th Calvary Armored Regimen as a Sargent Tank Operator during the Vietnam War. He earned many metals of honor including a Purple Heart and Sharp Shooter. He loved playing pranks on others. He loved his boys and having air soft gun wars and giving them humorous hard times. His sons have so many good memories of when their dad was a truck driver and him being so good at it. He was strict, hardworking, loyal, strong, and could fix about anything. He loved all his grandkids and loved watching his oldest grandson, Caden Stone, play highschool and college football. He loved seeing videos of his granddaughter, Chesney Stone, cheer. He looked forward to facetime calls and playing Xbox live with his sons. Alan was known as Big Al and wore a size 18 shoe. Alan loved going to church and watching them on their live streams. At one point, he taught Sunday School and drove the church bus. He also loved his dogs and cat. The family has entrusted Cone Funeral Home (1510 Campbell Lane) with arrangements. Cremation was chosen and there will be no public gathering scheduled at this time.
